万源教师 绝不简单 | 在万源协和续写教育之梦的Christelle老师 Versatile Xiehe

In SUIS Wanyuan, we are not only proud of our students’ diversified development, but also pleased to witness the growth of our dear teachers, which we believe is the pivotal driving force for our school’s continuous progress.

The journey of education is endless, we will always keep teaching students. In SUIS Wanyuan, we cheer for the diverse development of our children, and attention to words and deeds by applying the idea of quality teachers.

The Begining of The Story
I have been working at Wanyuan since 2018. I arrived during the second semester after I sought to work in Primary school rather than kindergarten. By this time, I have only been in China for 6 months, but have been teaching in South Africa for about 4 years already. I was approached by a former employee and told that Wanyuan needed an English teacher, so I jumped at the opportunity! During my demo lesson I could remember the liveliness, confidence, enthusiasm and great English ability of the students, which is one of the reasons why I am still here.

2018年，这个学年的第二个学期，我加入了万源协和。
当时我在幼儿园和小学中要做出选择。经过慎重的思考，我认为自己更想在小学里工作，也更适合在小学里工作。那时候的我才来到中国6个月，但在南非教书已经4年了，教学经验绰绰有余。
那时候，一位万源协和的前员工找到我，告诉我万源需要一位英语老师，所以我抓住了这个机会!
我还记得，初入万源的时候，学生们在我的试讲课上展现出了他们的活泼、自信、热情和出色的英语能力。这，也是让我一直想要留在万源的原因之一。

Campus Events
Every event that is hosted by the school is memorable, from carnival activities to field trips! The students take on tasks and challenges that amazes me. I have made so many memories working here, and I am reminded by them every day when a former student greets me in the office or wants to pop in for a quick conversation. I think that is what makes it such a joy to come to work – that, and the staff, of course. It feels like being part of a family.

不管是从嘉年华活动到实地考察，学校举办的每一项活动都是令人难忘的!学生们所承担的任务和挑战让我惊叹。在这里的工作时光给我留下了很多回忆，每次当我的学生来到办公室，或者想要过来和我简短交谈时，我意识到了在这工作是如此的快乐——当然还有工作人员。感觉就像成为了家庭的一员。

This is the first school I have worked at where ‘teacher’ is not the only position available to me. I have found that through hard work and determination I can be motivated to become much more than that, to lead my own team, and to develop my own skills as a leader. I am proud to be on a team who cares about my wellbeing as well, not only what I can offer as a teacher. I am especially proud of my ELA and Inquiry team this year – no challenge, whether it is a technical issue or a deadline, is too big for us to overcome, and we all help each other!

在工作中，我会不停的总结自己，然后继续不断的努力，以期收获到更多的肯定，让我有动力去做更多的事情。比如现在，我就带领自己的工作团队，来提高自身的领导技能。
我很自豪能加入一个这样的幸福的团队，我特别为今年的ELA和Inquiry团队感到骄傲，在今年的工作挑战上，无论是技术问题还是工作交付日期，对我们个人而言无疑是困难的，但是对于我们这个团队来说，却是可以轻松实现的，所以我们都互相帮助，以期能够达成最好的效果。

Me and Wanyuan
SUIS has given me a chance to showcase my own skills and abilities in cross-campus workshops and open my classroom to other campuses for open lesson events. I hope to be part of the workshop leadership team in the future and continue giving ideas and teaching others, but also learning from others.

Christelle老师认为倡导教学不只局限于知识的传授，而是把目光投向生活，引导孩子们去关注，去思考，去创造。所以协和给了我在跨校区交流时展现自己能力与技能的机会，还能够让其他校区的老师们来参加我的公开课。所以我希望给孩子带去更多的思考和创造，也能够更好的融入领导团队，为他人提供好的灵感和指导，同时也可以向他人学习更多的技能。

Future Plan
My future is looking bright at SUIS Wanyuan! I aim to continue my journey at this campus for as long as possible and develop my skills in my current leadership role. There is still much to learn by leading a team!

Be a team player! I believe every person can attribute something towards collaborating in a team, and therefore being a team player is crucial to keeping the team going and accomplishing tasks. Also, with hard work anything can be achieved.
